Senator Barau declares for Kano guber race

Senator Barau Jibrin, representing Kano North in the upper legislative chamber has thrown his hat in the ring for Kano State gubernatorial election in 2023.
The Senator, who is also a member of the G-7 faction of the All Progressive Congress (APC), named members of his Campaign Committee on Sunday.

Barau appointed a Professor of Food Science and Technology Hafiz Abubakar, who is also a former Deputy Governor of Kano State as the Campaign Director and Chairman of the central committee alongside 10 members.
The governorship hopeful unveiled a 17-man committee across the three senatorial districts in the state, as well a 27-man committee to oversee the campaign across the 44 Local Government Areas.

Members of the committee include women as well as representation from people with special needs.

The lawmaker, who is Chairman, Senate Committee on Appropriation, thanked members of the committee for their sacrifices, just as he charged them to work closely with the campaign director in order to succeed in the Party’s primaries.

Chairman of the campaign’s central committee, while responding said the committee will soon inaugurate other subcommittees that will include, social media, Student associations and one for the business community.

“We will soon unveil a reach out strategy for the Barau Jibrin’s campaign that will involve going to the grassroots, business communities, religious leaders and associations.”

“You all are free to start soliciting for support in respect of the candidacy of Senator Barau Jibril.”
