Odebiyi boosts smallholder farmers’ capacity in Ogun West with farm inputs

The Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Sen. Tolu Odebiyi has called on government at all levels to pay serious attention to the agricultural sector in order to boost the nation’s economy.
Media Aide to the Senator Olubunmi Omo’ogun in a statement quoted Odebiyi to have indicated that constant investment in the smallholder farmers will ensure food security, improve productivity and raise household incomes.

The Senator’s farmers empowerment program which held in his country home Iboro, Yewa North Local Government Wednesday, is to support smallholder farmers and increase their production of food staples in the Senatorial District.

The Senator who was represented by one of the leaders in the District, Alhaji Hassan Orobiyi, charged the beneficiaries of the empowerment to utilise the items given to them judiciously for the improvement and expansion of their agribusiness.

Some of the items distributed at the programme include hybrid seedlings, sprayers, insecticides among other farm input items.
