Police in Nasarawa confirms murder of final year varsity student

The Nasarawa state police command has confirmed the murder of a final year student of Nasarawa state university, Keffi.

ASP Ramhan Nansel, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state made the disclosure in an interview with newsmen on Wednesday in Lafia.

He said that the alleged killing of Mr. Michael Elechi was reported by one Joy Anga, a student of NSUK and resident of same compound with the deceased at Police Station, Angwan Lambo near the university on Feb. 15, around 6:30pm.
According to him
“Anga had returned from lectures around 5:40pm to see the gate of their building ajar, only to enter to see the deceased in the poll of his blood,”
ASP Nansel further explained that upon receipt of the report, the police personnel at Angwan Lambo rush to the scene and took the victim to Federal Medical Centre Keffi where he was confirmed dead.

Meanwhile, the police spokesperson said that the command has began investigation into the alleged murder of the student.
He added that the Commissioner of Police (CP) in the state Adesina Soyemi had ordered for autopsy to unravel the mystery behind his death.

The deceased before his death was a final year part-time student of Business Administration Department of Nasarawa State University Keffi.

The PPRO also said that the corpse had been deposited at the hospital’s morgue pending the outcome of the investigation
