FG constructs 10 rural roads In Jigawa to boost agricultural output

The federal government has constructed 10 rural roads in Jigawa State as part of efforts to boost agricultural outputs.
The projects which were executed through the federal Ministry Of Agriculture had since been handed over to beneficiary communities.
Speaking at the handing over ceremony the Director and projects Coordinator federal ministry of agriculture Jigawa state office, Alhaji Mustapha Ibrahim Anka said, the projects were executed with the aim of supporting the rural farmers to get access to the market and other services.
He explained that, the projects were executed at various location to link thousands of farmers with the market for easy transportation of goods and services.
Anka added that, beside the road projects, the ministry had also executed 8 solar electrification projects and water projects to provide basic amenities that would enhance the social life of the rural farmers.
The Director maintained that, the provision of basic amenities such as clean water, electricity, good roads, classrooms will make rural farmers to stay in their communities to farm and equally curb rural urban migration.
Anka however charged the beneficiary communities to take ownership of the projects and protect them from vandalization for long lasting use.
In their response, the beneficiary communities thanked the federal ministry of agriculture for executing the projects that would help them to produce more and earn more income.
They promised to give maximum support to all federal government agricultural policies designed to achieve food security, job creation and poverty eradication in the country.
Other projects executed by the Agric Ministry included, construction of classrooms, construction of modern meat market, two rice mills, Gum Arabic processing centre, Small milk processing plant and rehabilitation of grazing reserve.
