    Northern Women also want Kogi Gov to succeed Buhari

    Women from the Nineteen Northern States’ on Tuesday drummed support for Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari after his tenure in 2023.

    The Group under the aegis, Yahaya Bello Network (YBN) gave the indication on Tuesday when they visited Bello at the Kogi State Governor’s Lodge, Abuja.

    Chairperson of the network Honorable Hadiza Ahmed, indicated that of all those that have expressed their interest to run for President in 2023, Bello is their preferred choice considering all his achievements as governor of Kogi state.

    Ahmed explained that going by his achievements as Governor they have pitched their tent with him as the best person to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.

    She said that Bello has shown good leadership in Kogi state which can be felt across all sectors.

    The chairperson also applauded the governor for being the most youth and women friendly governor in the country.

    That she said has been the reason for countless international and national recognitions and awards he had received in recent time..

    “We are here to call on the Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello to answer our call to be our next President in 2023.

    “Bello understands the needs of the youths and women because he interfaces and work with them.

    “Under his administration, the youths and women are carried along, which is what we want to be brought to the national level, because that is what Nigerians are also clamoring for in 2023.

    “The example has already been set in Kogi State and we are sure he will do it when he becomes President in. 2023.

    In his response, Bello appreciated the group for choosing him as the right person to take over from President Buhari in 2023.

    The Governor said he has responded to their quest for him to contest for President in 2023, promising not to fail them.

    “I am very happy to receive you today, and you are the first group I am receiving in 2022, urging me to run for President.

    “Since last year, a lot of groups have been beckoning on me to run for President and today,
    I have accepted your call and I promise not to disappoint you and all of Nigerians,” Bello said.

    Bello said just as his administration has led for a united Kogi State, he will also ensure a united, safe and secured Nigeria.
