An aspirant for the Taraba Central Senatorial seat, Abdullahi Bello Bodejo, has formally withdrawn from the race and declared support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Agbu Kefas and Senator Haruna Manu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Bodejo made his position known in a statement issued by the Director-General of his campaign council, Alhaji Adamu Isa, who said the decision was taken in the interest of unity, continuity and sustained development in Taraba State.
According to the statement, Bodejo directed all his supporters across Taraba Central to rally behind President Tinubu, Governor Kefas and Senator Manu in order to consolidate ongoing development efforts and deepen the delivery of democratic dividends to the people.
The campaign council stressed that Bodejo’s earlier ambition to contest the senatorial seat was never aimed at antagonising any individual or political structure, but was driven by his desire to contribute meaningfully to the development of Taraba Central Senatorial District.
Isa noted that Governor Kefas and Senator Manu had already demonstrated commitment to governance and grassroots development, adding that they deserved overwhelming support from the people in the next election cycle.
He further reaffirmed Bodejo’s loyalty to the All Progressives Congress, saying he remains a founding member of the party and would continue to mobilise support for its success in 2027.
Bodejo also maintained that politics should not be viewed as a “do-or-die affair,” insisting that he remains committed to democratic principles and internal party harmony.
He called on his supporters to remain peaceful, united and fully committed to delivering victory for the APC in all elections during the 2027 polls.
