Lamido Declares PDP United, Battle-Ready After Jigawa Primaries 2027

Mustapha Sule Lamido, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for the 2027 election in Jigawa State, has expressed strong confidence in what he described as the party’s growing unity, resilience, and expanding grassroots support across the state.
He made the remarks during the PDP House of Representatives primary election held in Jigawa State, which recorded a large turnout of party faithful, including youths, women, elders, and leaders, in an atmosphere he described as peaceful and reflective of renewed cohesion within the party.
Lamido said the conduct and participation of members at the primaries demonstrated that the PDP remains organised, stable, and deeply united, stressing that internal cohesion is a major strength ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to him, the party continues to enjoy strong grassroots acceptance despite shifting political dynamics, insisting that the PDP remains firmly rooted and trusted across communities in Jigawa State.
He further noted that the unity displayed during the primaries would translate into electoral strength, adding that the PDP is “battle-ready” to consolidate its position and pursue victory in the next general elections.
Hon. Adamu Yakubu Danmaliki was reaffirmed as the party’s consensus candidate for Birninkudu/Buji Federal Constituency.
Lamido, who also participated in the exercise described the process as a clear reflection of internal stability and collective decision-making within the party.
He maintained that despite a competitive political environment, the PDP’s structure in Jigawa remains intact, disciplined, and focused on victory in 2027.
