Nger State Governor Umaru Mohammed Bago has pledged that renovations at the state’s permanent National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camp will be completed ahead of schedule. Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony for the 2026 Batch C, Stream Two NYSC members in Paiko, Bago emphasized that the updated facilities will rank among the best in the country once finished.
Representing the governor, Mallam Umar Garba Ngeski, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry for Youth Development, reiterated the state’s unwavering commitment to the welfare and safety of the corps members. “To facilitate your best performance, we must provide a conducive environment,” he stated, highlighting ongoing investments in the camp’s upgrades.
Governor Bago assured that support for the corps members extends well beyond the three-week orientation period. He called on local communities, traditional rulers, and security agencies to foster a peaceful and welcoming atmosphere for the NYSC members throughout their service year.

As the new corps members embark on this transformative journey, Bago encouraged them to embrace their roles as ambassadors for Nigeria’s unity and socio-economic development. He asked them to commit to community service and growth, starting from their time at the orientation camp.
Earlier, State Coordinator Martina Shuaibu Ibrahim reminded the corps members that their orientation is not simply a formality, but an essential training period meant to prepare them mentally, physically, and spiritually for the challenges ahead. She emphasized the importance of fully engaging in every aspect of the program, as they take on their new responsibilities as ambassadors of national progress and unity.
