The faction of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) led by state chairmen has announced a timetable for its Non-Elective Congresses and Special Convention ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a notice issued under its interpretation of the party’s constitutional provisions and recent court pronouncements, the group said the exercise is being coordinated through its National Executive Committee (NEC) structure aligned with state chairmen across the country.
According to the schedule, Ward and Local Government Area (LGA) Non-Elective Congresses will hold on Thursday, May 7, 2026, while State Congresses are slated for Friday, May 8, 2026.
The faction also fixed its Special Convention and Presidential Primary for Sunday, May 24, 2026.
It stated that only processes conducted through its recognised NEC framework—backed by state chairmen leadership—will be deemed valid and binding for the party’s participation in the 2027 elections.
The group warned against what it described as “unauthorised parallel structures,” insisting that any congresses, primaries, or delegate exercises conducted outside its approved framework would not be recognised.
“All members, aspirants, and stakeholders are advised to comply strictly with the official arrangements of the state chairmen-led leadership structure,” the notice stated.
It added that outcomes from only the approved processes will be considered legitimate for nomination and electoral purposes.
The notice was signed by the Chairman of the State Chairmen Forum, Kingsley Temitope Ogga.
