The Makinde-Daura Presidential Campaign Organization (MDPCO) has dismissed President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 campaign flag-off in Kaduna as political theatre, accusing his administration of failing the North on security, economic welfare and political inclusion.
The organisation said the campaign event would not erase what it described as broken promises, worsening hardship and declining public confidence in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement issued on Friday by its Director of Strategic Communications, Richard Nnanna Ihediwa, MDPCO challenged Tinubu to explain what the North had gained from his administration beyond persistent insecurity, economic difficulties and what it called marginalisation.

The group recalled Tinubu’s December 2022 campaign promise in Kaduna to eliminate kidnappers and killers troubling the region, arguing that continued attacks and abductions had raised questions about the government’s security commitments.
MDPCO alleged that at least 20,000 people had been killed in northern Nigeria since Tinubu assumed office in 2023, while millions had been displaced by insecurity. The figures were not independently verified in the statement.
It also criticised reports that APC campaign billboards were receiving security protection, arguing that vulnerable communities deserved comparable attention from security agencies.
The organisation further alleged that the North had been marginalised in appointments to strategic federal positions, accusing the APC of treating the region primarily as a source of electoral support.
“No part of the country should be an electoral warehouse to be raided every four years and abandoned after victory,” the group said.
MDPCO maintained that Nigerians deserved improved security, affordable living costs, reliable electricity, quality education and stronger economic opportunities rather than recurring campaign promises.
The organisation urged voters to support the Allied People’s Movement (APM) presidential candidate, Engineer Seyi Makinde, presenting his RESET NIGERIA agenda as an alternative to the Tinubu administration.
The statement, however, reflected the position of Makinde’s campaign organisation, which is seeking to unseat the incumbent president in the 2027 election.
Tinubu’s administration has made security and economic reforms central to its policy agenda, although the campaign organisation’s allegations highlight issues likely to feature prominently in the coming electoral contest.
