The Kano State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed claims by a group known as the “Arewa APC Forum” alleging withdrawal of support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second-term bid.
In a statement issued on Saturday by the party’s State Publicity Secretary, Auwalu Abdullahi, the APC described the group as “faceless” and its claims as false, misleading, and aimed at creating disunity within the party.
The party said it had no affiliation with the group, stressing that no recognized organ of the APC in Kano had taken any decision to withdraw support for the president.
“We wish to state categorically that this so-called forum is not known to the party structure and does not represent the views of APC members in Kano State,” the statement read.
The APC reaffirmed its unwavering support for President Tinubu’s administration and his re-election bid in 2027, noting that the government remains focused on economic reforms, good governance, and national development.
Under the leadership of Hon. Umar Haruna Doguwa, the party urged members and the public to disregard the purported statement, describing it as the handiwork of mischief-makers seeking to cause unnecessary tension.
The statement also maintained that the individual(s) behind the alleged withdrawal were not known stakeholders of the party at any level in Kano, reiterating the APC’s unity and continued backing for Tinubu’s vision for Nigeria.
