Former Kano State Governor and leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has advised Nafiu Bala Gombe to reconsider his actions amid the ongoing crisis within the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Kwankwaso expressed disappointment over Bala’s alleged refusal to honour a scheduled meeting with him, describing the incident as a missed opportunity for guidance and dialogue.
According to him, the meeting was intended to offer “fatherly counsel,” but Bala’s absence prevented that conversation from taking place. He said he had waited into the early hours, only to be informed that the young politician would not show up.
Using a local metaphor, Kwankwaso cautioned Bala against taking actions that could harm both his political future and the broader democratic process, urging him to act responsibly.
He called on traditional and religious leaders, including the Emir of Gombe and other influential figures, to intervene and advise Bala against decisions that could deepen tensions within the ADC.
Kwankwaso further stressed that Bala, as a young politician, should prioritize the national interest over personal or short-term considerations, adding that his actions could have wider implications for the party and the country’s democracy.
He maintained that his intention was purely advisory, describing the young politician as someone who could still be guided toward a more constructive political path.
The remarks come amid rising tensions within the ADC, as internal disputes continue to draw attention from key political stakeholders across the country.
