Kwankwaso Denies Endorsing Governor Yusuf’s Defection to APC

Former Kano State Governor and 2023 NNPP presidential candidate, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has firmly denied endorsing the defection of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and other party members to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Kwankwaso, who leads the Kwankwasiyya movement, made the denial through his media aide, Saifullahi Hassan, responding to a report by Premium Times suggesting he had supported the governor’s defection.
The statement described the report as “false, misleading, and entirely without factual basis,” emphasizing that Kwankwaso remains committed to the ideals, vision, and principles of the NNPP.
“Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf was elected on the platform of the NNPP and remains a member of the party, with an obligation to uphold the mandate freely given to him by the people,” the statement added.
Kwankwaso’s office stressed that at no point did he endorse or approve any move by Governor Yusuf to join the APC and warned the public and media to treat contrary reports with skepticism, urging reliance on verified sources for accurate information
