The Managing Director of Ajaokuta Steel Development Company Limited, Prof. Nasir Naheem Salami, has donated hospital equipment valued at over ₦3 million to the Cottage Hospital in Aiyegunle Gbedde, Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The donation was made on December 27, 2025, as part of efforts to support healthcare delivery and community development in the area.
Receiving the equipment, the Olu of Aiyegunle Gbedde, Chief Lateef Haruna (Alafin II), expressed deep appreciation to Prof. Salami for the gesture.
He thanked him for remembering his community and offered prayers for his continued success. The monarch also urged Prof. Salami and other well-meaning individuals from the community to sustain their contributions towards its development, particularly in critical sectors such as health.
Highlights of the event included the formal presentation of the medical equipment to the Olu of Aiyegunle Gbedde, who subsequently handed them over to the community’s Health Committee.
The committee, in turn, transferred the equipment to the management and staff of the Cottage Hospital for immediate use.
Community members described the donation as timely and impactful, noting that it would significantly enhance healthcare services for residents of Aiyegunle Gbedde and surrounding communities.
