The Executive Chairman of Bwari Area Council, Hon. (Dr.) John Gabaya, has called on Christians to embrace the spirit of Christmas by promoting love, peace, and unity, urging residents to reflect on the enduring values exemplified by the birth of Jesus Christ as they celebrate the 2025 Yuletide.
In his festive message, Chairman Gabaya encouraged citizens to pray for the Bwari Area Council, the Federal Capital Territory, and Nigeria, noting that his administration is guided by faith in God and the collective will of the people.
Chief Press Secretary to the Executive Chairman, Agada Ernest Godwin in a statement quoted him to have advised residents to deepen their trust in God, who he described as the ultimate solution to societal challenges, as they celebrate the season.
Expressing gratitude that the people of Bwari are witnessing another Christmas, Dr. Gabaya acknowledged the mercy and love of Almighty God, even amid personal and communal challenges.
He highlighted the administration’s commitment to peace, security, and the safety of lives and property, while noting the remarkable progress achieved in socio-economic growth and infrastructural development.
He expressed appreciation to residents for their steadfast support over the past six and a half years, assuring them that the administration remains dedicated to building a safe, prosperous, and thriving Council.
Reflecting on his tenure since 2019, Dr. Gabaya recounted achievements in health, education, agriculture, infrastructure, and human capital development, emphasizing the crucial role of citizens in driving these successes.
Ahead of the 2026 FCT Area Council elections, the Chairman urged politicians to exercise tolerance, restraint, and civility, calling for elections to be contests of ideas and vision, rather than platforms for violence or political vendettas.
“Let us choose leaders who uphold fairness and reject those who see elections as do-or-die,” he said.
Chairman Gabaya stressed that unity remains one of Bwari’s greatest strengths, describing the Council as a peaceful home where diverse cultures, languages, and traditions work together for development.
He said that beyond infrastructure, the true strength of Bwari lies in the compassion, shared purpose, and cooperation of its people.
He urged residents to extend love to one another, recommit to peace, and continue serving humanity. Wishing all a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year 2026, Dr. Gabaya prayed for continued joy, harmony, and unity in the Council and encouraged responsible celebrations to safeguard the community’s progress.
“It is with great joy that I, on behalf of myself, my administration, and the people of Bwari Area Council, extend my heartfelt Christmas greetings to all Christians celebrating this season,” he concluded.
