Kogi Central Senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of former Senator Isah Obaro Abonyi, a respected figure who also represented Kogi Central.
In a condolence message on Tuesday, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan described Abonyi’s death as a significant loss to Kogi Central, the state, and the nation, highlighting his dedication and impact during his time in public service.
She urged his family to find solace in his lifelong contributions and the legacy he leaves behind, adding, “May God grant his soul eternal rest and comfort the hearts of his loved ones.”
Born on 20 August 1934 in Okene, Alhaji Isah Obaro Abonyi served as Senator in 1979, representing the then Okene/Okehi constituency, now part of Kogi Central. He passed away at 90 years old, leaving behind a rich legacy of public service and leadership.
