Hope Alive Initiative Celebrates Tinubu’s Bold Leadership Amid Security Challenges

The pro-good-governance group, Hope Alive Initiative (HAI), has applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his decisive leadership in tackling Nigeria’s security challenges, describing his actions as a “source of hope” for the nation.
In a statement by its Director of Media and Communications, Ernest Omoarelojie, HAI said the President has shown “clarity, courage, and capability” in addressing one of the country’s most difficult security periods. He called Tinubu “the leader Nigeria needs today,” citing his rapid and coordinated response to abductions and violent crimes across multiple states.
Recent security operations underscore these efforts: all abductees in Kebbi and Kwara states were safely rescued, over 50 schoolchildren abducted in Niger State have been recovered, and a notorious terrorist kingpin was captured in Taraba.
HAI also praised President Tinubu for putting domestic security first, cancelling trips to international meetings in South Africa and Angola. “By staying home and taking personal command, the President has reassured Nigerians that their safety is his top priority,” the group said.
Under his leadership, a Situation Room was established, linking intelligence, military, police, and diplomatic channels for faster decision-making and coordinated action. The President also directed Defence Minister Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawale to relocate to active conflict zones, demonstrating leadership “where it matters most.”
To expand frontline capacity, Tinubu approved the recruitment of 50,000 new police officers, redeployed military personnel to active operations, and recalled officers from VIP duties to strengthen community policing. These measures, HAI said, mark a “new era of proactive and results-driven national security.”
Diplomatic efforts have complemented these actions. The National Security Adviser’s consultations in Washington and the Foreign Affairs Ministry’s engagement with Niger Republic aim to enhance intelligence-sharing and regional security cooperation, reflecting the administration’s strategic outlook on interconnected challenges.
Legal and judicial reforms are also advancing. Between 2022 and 2024, the Nigeria Police Force prosecuted 29,052 violent criminals with 16,200 convictions, while the National Human Rights Commission investigated religiously motivated attacks, reinforcing justice and protection for citizens.
HAI further commended initiatives addressing poverty, displacement, and identity-based grievances, which are key to reducing extremist recruitment.
“These are challenging times, but Nigeria is fortunate to have a courageous and visionary leader in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Omoarelojie said. “With his bold leadership, decisive action, and commitment to strategic solutions, the future of our nation is brighter and more secure.”
