FG, States, LGCs Share N2.1 Trillion for September 2025

The Federal Government, state governments, and Local Government Councils (LGCs) shared a total of N2.103 trillion from the Federation Account for the month of September 2025, the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) has announced.
The distribution came from a gross revenue of N3.054 trillion, the FAAC said in a communique signed by the Accountant General of the Federation, Shamsudeen B. Ogunjimi.

Under the allocation, the Federal Government received N711.314 billion, the States got N727.170 billion, while Local Government Councils received N529.954 billion. Oil-producing states also received N134.956 billion as derivation revenue, equivalent to 13 percent of mineral revenue.

The committee also allocated N116.149 billion for cost of collection and N835.005 billion for transfers, interventions, and refunds.

The communique revealed that Value Added Tax (VAT) revenue rose to N872.63 billion, up from N722.62 billion the previous month. The Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL) contributed N53.84 billion to the distribution, while statutory revenue stood at N2.128 trillion, slightly lower than the previous month.

FAAC noted that VAT, import duties, and EMTL increased significantly, while company income tax and customs levies recorded decreases. Petroleum Profit Tax rose marginally, with slight declines in oil and gas royalties and excise duties.

The FAAC meeting was held in October 2025 under the chairmanship of the Accountant General, Shamsudeen Ogunjimi.
