***Pushes Grassroots Momentum for Renewed Hope
The Remi Tinubu Support Organisation (RETSO) has strengthened its national leadership with the appointment of Yakubu Abdullahi Hussaini Ruba (SAN) as National Trustee, energising its grassroots machinery for the First Lady’s Renewed Hope Initiative in Jigawa and nationwide.
The initiative — already delivering ₦9.4 billion in health and humanitarian projects for women, youth, and children — is central to RETSO’s mission of embedding Senator Remi Tinubu’s people-focused legacy across every community in Nigeria.

At the letter presentation in Dutse, National Coordinator Yusi Buba declared: “We are building a movement that reaches the grassroots, ensuring the First Lady’s vision touches lives everywhere, while keeping support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu strong ahead of 2027.”
Ruba — a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, former Jigawa Attorney-General, and one of 50 SANs who defended Tinubu’s mandate at the Supreme Court — called his appointment “an honour and a call to service,” vowing relentless work with Jigawa’s trustees to drive RETSO’s agenda and secure APC’s political future.
The event also saw Ibrahim Babawo named North-West Financial Secretary, alongside goodwill messages from Jigawa APC Deputy Chairman Nasiru Jahun, party elders, and stakeholders.
Renowned for never losing his ward in over 30 years of political mobilisation, Ruba’s career spans law, governance, and grassroots politics, with past roles including Pro-Chancellor of the Federal University, Kashere, and member of the Jigawa State Judicial Service Commission.
With governors’ wives as state matrons, RETSO’s renewed leadership push is set to deepen outreach, sustain the Renewed Hope Initiative, and reinforce APC’s base ahead of the next political cycle.
