President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reassured Nigerians of his administration’s commitment to resolving the economic challenges currently confronting the nation, urging citizens not to lose hope in his Renewed Hope Agenda.
Speaking during a town hall meeting with key All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders and traditional rulers in Nasarawa State on Wednesday, the President dismissed opposition figures plotting against his 2027 re-election bid as “political Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).”

“Nigerians are going through economic hardship, but from this moment on, you will have no regrets. Our Renewed Hope Agenda is on course,” Tinubu declared at the Aliyu Akwe Doma Banquet Hall in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital.
Describing Nasarawa as a microcosm of Nigeria, Tinubu said:
“This is a state of great complexity—rich in diversity, culture, and prosperity. I am proud to be here and grateful for the warm reception and cultural display. The new national anthem we are now singing began here in Nasarawa.”
The President said Nigeria had turned the corner from depression and uncertainty. “We’ve cut waste. We are on the path to a transformative Nigeria,” he stated.
Commending Governor Abdullahi Sule for prudent use of state resources, Tinubu said, “Sule is doing well because Bola Ahmed Tinubu is doing well too.” He pledged continued federal support to the state, urging the governor to sustain efforts toward development and prosperity.
While acknowledging Nasarawa’s potential in solid minerals, Tinubu emphasized the need for continued investment in agriculture to boost food security. “I’ve seen the sacks and bags—the harvest of rice, millet, and more. But don’t forget, you are a solid mineral state. Invest more in agriculture,” he advised.
He promised support for youth and women empowerment through small-scale financing, loans, and economic opportunities.
Tinubu also thanked the Nasarawa First Lady, Hajiya Silifat Sule, for warmly receiving Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, during her recent visit.
Earlier in his remarks, Governor Sule expressed deep appreciation for the President’s visit and leadership. Describing Tinubu as a “statesman, democrat, and nationalist,” he said the people of Nasarawa were benefiting from the administration’s economic reforms, especially the removal of fuel subsidies and unification of the exchange rate.
“People asked where the subsidy money is going. I told them: come to Nasarawa and see for yourself. Today, we have shown them,” the governor said.
He also highlighted a major oil discovery in the state, revealing that over ₦1 billion worth of hydrocarbons had been found in an exploratory site. He appealed to the President to support the development of an appraisal well and production infrastructure to enable full oil exploration.
Governor Sule concluded by thanking the President for his support toward human capital development, and praised Minister Salamatu Suleiman Ibrahim for driving the Renewed Hope Social Impact Programme across Nigeria.
