Local government leaders across Kogi State have thrown their collective weight behind Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s second-term ambition—years ahead of the next gubernatorial election.

At a leadership induction course underway in Lokoja, the 21 local government chairmen and 239 ward councillors officially endorsed the governor, calling him the “symbol of continuity, stability, and progress.”
The motion, jointly led by Hon. William Ameh (Olamaboro LGA) and Councillor Obaromi Comfort Olufunke (Kabba Bunu LGA), was unanimously adopted.

The local leaders hailed Governor Ododo’s delivery of tangible development at the grassroots level—from improved access to healthcare and education, to robust youth empowerment programs and infrastructure renewal.
They noted that under his leadership, rural communities are no longer sidelined but are now central to Kogi’s governance and development agenda.

Beyond the endorsement, their unified stance signaled an early mobilization of the state’s political base, with LG bosses vowing to safeguard and extend the gains of the current administration.

The message was clear: for Kogi’s grassroots, Governor Ododo represents not just a leader, but a movement worth continuing.
