In commemoration of the maiden National Police Day, the Akwa Ibom State Police Command has extended its service beyond law enforcement by organizing a free medical outreach and donating relief items to an orphanage in Uyo.
Led by Commissioner of Police, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, fsi, officers provided free health checkups and medications to residents at Itam Flyover, reinforcing the Force’s commitment to public welfare. The Command also visited Divine Children Home, Atan Offot, where food and essential supplies were presented to the children.

Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Timfon John in a statement on Friday said, while receiving the donations, the caretaker of the orphanage, Miss Emenebong Okokon, expressed gratitude to CP Azare and the police team, praying for divine protection and blessings upon them.
CP Azare emphasized that National Police Day is not just a celebration of the Force but also an opportunity to strengthen community ties through humanitarian gestures. He reaffirmed the Command’s dedication to security, public service, and community development.

The National Police Day activities in Akwa Ibom will continue with more events aimed at fostering stronger police-public relations and enhancing collective efforts for a safer society.
