    Bandits dealt a major blow as NAF air strikes eliminates 28 in Niger State

    A precision air strike by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has killed at least 28 terrorists in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State.
    The mission according to Deputy Director of Public Relations and Information, Group Captain Kabiru Ali targeted terrorists in Bassa, upon receipt of a request for air support from friendly forces in the area.

    The successful operation, conducted on September 11, 2024, according to him, was part of Operation WHIRL PUNCH, targeted at neutralizing criminal elements terrorizing communities in the area.

    “NAF aircraft were deployed to Bassa after receiving a distress call from friendly forces, who were engaged in a fierce battle with over 100 terrorists.
    He explained that upon arrival, Nigerian Air Force (NAF) air assets observed over 100 terrorists engaging friendly forces in a fierce firefight. After confirming the positions of friendly troops,
    “With the positions of friendly troops confirmed, the NAF launched a decisive air strike, resulting in the elimination of 28 terrorists and the destruction of weapons and motorcycles.

    The operation is ongoing, with more terrorists and weapons being cleared from the area.
