The Board and Management of Igala – Bassa Development Initiative (IBDI) have promised continue to work to develop digital infrastructure, provide digital skills training, and create equitable opportunities for our youths, no matter where they are.
Speaking through a statement the Head, Youth Development, Amb. Michael Achor Joshua for Igala – Bassa Development Initiative (IBDI) congratulated the resilient youths of Igala – Bassa in celebration of the International Youth day.
He said, the digital infrastructure development forms part of the thematic focused area for the development of Igala-Bassa.
“As we are all aware, the youths of Igala -Bassa forms the largest demographic of users and developers shaping digital trends globally. As the 2030 deadline for the SDGs approaches, youth remain an essential demographic group in leveraging the transformative power of technologies to address global challenges.
“In recent years, we have witnessed how digital transformation has profoundly impacted various aspects of life, from education and food security, health, to employment opportunities. However, we also recognize that significant challenges remain, especially for our brothers and sisters in remote areas who may not fully experience the benefits of this transformation.
“Let us together, with a burning passion, step into a brighter future, where digitalisation is not just a tool but a bridge that connects us to a sustainable future.
This years theme; From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for sustainable Development,
aims at celebrating the contributions of youth in the digital world, which can further help and inspire collaboration to achieve the long-term goal of sustainable development.
“According to the UN, the theme discusses the connection between digitalization and accelerating the progress of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), emphasizing the crucial contributions of young people in this transformative process.
