Jigawa state government has constituted a committee to look in to the case of workers who missed the staff verification exercise conducted recently in the state.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer in the office of the head of the civil service, Malam Ismaila Ibrahim Dutse.

The state government had awarded a contract for the verification and enrollment of the state’s civil servants in to integrated Payroll and Personal Information Systems (IPPIS) to a private audit firm.

According to the statement the committee was set up by the State Head of the Civil Service, Alhaji Muhammad K. Dagaceri for any one that was not verified during the exercise.

The statement explained further that any unverified worker with cogent reason for failing to participate in the verification exercise who feel adversely affected is directed to contact the committee at the office of the Head of the Civil Service for verification”.

He explained further that the verification of the State workforce was meant to inject sanity into the system and engender credibility in the State payrolls and not to create unnecessary sufferings for the workers.

“Infact the exercise was not meant to downsize the workforce or witch-hunt any Civil Servant but to maintain an up- to- date payroll system” the HOS said.

It further stated that, the present administration has no intention to disengage any worker but instead recruit more workers and make a significant move to covert J-Teach and J-Health workers into Permanent and Pensionable positions, in addition to filling other gaps in the Service.
