    Police Present N41M Cheque to Families of deceased Officers in Jigawa

    The Jigawa State commissoner of police Ahmed Tijjani Muhammad has presented a cheque of over N41 million to next of kin to 24 deceased police officers who died in active service.

    Speaking while presenting the cheques, the police commissioner said the money is for group live assurance scheme of the Nigerian Police Force to ease the families immediate problems.
    Muhammad said “I stand before you today with heart full of both profound sorrow and immediate pride, Sorrow for the irreplaceable loss the command has suffered, and pride for the undaunting courage and dedication discharged by our fallen heroes.

    According to him “These officers were not just colleagues, they were brothers and sisters on blue, standing shoulder to shoulder in the face of danger, safeguarding our communities with firm resolve”.

    The police boss maintained that “They ran towards the flames when others ran away. They faced threats to protect the vulnerable. They gave their lives in the noble pursuit of keeping us safe”

    To the families of the fallen heroes, he said their loved ones were not just simply police officers, but were sons and daughters, fathers, mothers, husband’s and wives.

    “They were the light of your lives, and their absence leaves a void that can never be truly filled.

    “On behalf of the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, I issue these 24 cheques as part of his Group Life Assurance Scheme (GLAS), amounting to 41 Million to the family members to change their lives,” he concluded.
