The National Industrial Court sitting in Abuja has prohibited the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and its affiliate unions from engaging in any industrial action over the removal of fuel subsidy by the Federal Government.
Presiding Judge, Justice Olufunke Anuwe gave the of prohibition order on Monday while ruling in an ex parte application filed before it by the office of Attorney-general of the federation.
Justice Anuwe stopped the NLC and all its affiliates from further engaging on the strike planned for June 7 until the hearing and determination of the substantive suit.
The court further ordered the service of the originating summons and motion on notice on the NLC against the next adjourned date of June 19.

The orders of the court followed an ex parte application by the office of the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice seeking to stop the planned strike.
