    Kefas appoints professor Kalla as VC of Taraba tropical agriculture university

    Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas, has appointed Professor Demo Joab Usman Kalla as the Vice Chancellor of the Taraba State University of Tropical Agriculture, Science, Technology and Climate Action, Gembu.

    The appointment was contained in a statement issued on Monday by the Secretary to the Taraba State Government, Chief Gebon Timothy Kataps.

    Until his appointment, Kalla was the Director of the TETFund Centre of Excellence on Dairy Research and Development at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi.

    He is also a member of the Presidential Livestock Reforms Implementation Committee.

    Kalla is an accomplished scholar with extensive research experience in Animal Science and has published widely in reputable local and international academic journals.

    The statement said his contributions to Animal Science had earned him recognition within academic and professional circles.

    Kefas said he was confident that Kalla would deploy his experience in academia, research, leadership and administration to position the new university as a centre of excellence.

    The governor urged the new Vice Chancellor to work with relevant stakeholders to advance the university’s mandate in education, research, innovation and sustainable development.

    Kefas also wished Kalla a successful and impactful tenure.
