Top leaders of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, have intensified consultations ahead of the 2027 general elections as the party prepares to unveil its campaign council.
The latest meeting, which lasted several hours, was held at the Abuja residence of the NDC National Leader, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson.
The meeting was attended by the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi; his running mate, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso; National Chairman, Senator Moses Cleopas Zuwoghe; the two Deputy National Chairmen and other senior party officials.
The meeting came days after another lengthy discussion involving Dickson, Obi and Kwankwaso, as the party’s top leaders continue to fine-tune arrangements for the 2027 campaign.
Sources said the latest meeting focused on outstanding issues surrounding the campaign council and other preparations for the election.
The consultations also come against the backdrop of the party’s directive to its candidates across the country to begin campaigns in their respective states and constituencies in line with the Independent National Electoral Commission’s timetable.
Dickson has urged party members and aspirants to remain united and work together for the success of the NDC at all levels.
In a statement shared on his verified social media handles, the former Bayelsa State governor called on members to close ranks and ensure victory for NDC candidates across the country.
The renewed meetings among the party’s leading figures signal an intensification of efforts to build a coordinated campaign structure ahead of the 2027 elections.
