The Northern Senators Forum (NSF) has congratulated the Government and people of Kwara State, particularly the Woro Community, on the successful rescue of victims abducted during the recent kidnapping incident, describing the development as a major victory in the ongoing fight against insecurity.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the Chairman of the Forum, Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’Adua, speaking on behalf of Senators representing the 19 Northern States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), lauded the courage, professionalism and seamless collaboration of the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigerian Army, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and local vigilante groups whose coordinated operation secured the victims’ safe release.

The Forum noted that the successful operation demonstrates the effectiveness of intelligence-driven security operations and the importance of strong collaboration between security agencies and local communities in combating criminality.

It also expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for providing the political leadership, strategic direction and operational support that empowered the security agencies to respond swiftly and effectively to the incident.

“The successful rescue is a testament to what can be achieved when our security institutions work in unity, supported by credible intelligence and the unwavering commitment of government at all levels. It reinforces our collective resolve that criminal elements have no place in our society,” the statement said.

While celebrating the successful outcome of the rescue operation, the Forum expressed deep sympathy to the families of those who lost their lives during the unfortunate incident.

The Forum prayed for the peaceful repose of the departed and asked Almighty Allah to grant their families the strength and fortitude to bear the painful loss. It also urged the Federal Government and the Kwara State Government to provide the bereaved families with the necessary support and assistance.

The Northern Senators Forum further appealed to Nigerians to remain vigilant and continue partnering with security agencies by volunteering timely and credible information, stressing that public cooperation remains indispensable in the fight against kidnapping, banditry and other forms of violent crime.

The Forum reaffirmed its commitment to supporting legislative measures and policies aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s security architecture and ensuring lasting peace across the country.

It prayed for enduring peace, security and prosperity for Woro Community, Kwara State and all communities across Northern Nigeria.
