North-West Accord Party Members Rally Behind Olawepo-Hashim

    Move to Strengthen Grassroots Base

Supporters of the Accord Party in Kano, Katsina and Jigawa states have thrown their weight behind the presidential aspiration of Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, signalling what party stakeholders describe as a renewed drive to expand the party’s influence and consolidate its grassroots presence ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The endorsement followed a series of consultations and meetings involving party leaders, members and supporters across the three North-West states, where participants pledged to intensify mobilisation efforts and strengthen the party’s structures at the ward and local government levels.

In Jigawa State, supporters from the state’s 27 local government areas expressed confidence in Olawepo-Hashim’s leadership credentials, describing him as a politician with the national outlook and experience needed to unite the country and address its economic and governance challenges.

The supporters pledged to take his message to communities across the state, saying they would work to broaden the party’s support base and increase political participation among voters ahead of the next election cycle.

The momentum was mirrored in Kano and Katsina states, where party members reaffirmed their loyalty to the Accord Party and pledged support for Olawepo-Hashim’s vision of national cohesion, economic renewal and inclusive development.

The latest endorsements come at a time when the party is seeking to reinforce internal unity amid ongoing legal proceedings affecting its leadership structure.

At an emergency stakeholders’ meeting, party leaders maintained that the Accord Party remains a legally recognised political organisation and urged members not to be distracted by internal disputes or external pressures.

They called on party faithful across the country to remain focused on grassroots expansion, membership drive and institutional strengthening, insisting that the party’s future would be determined by its ability to remain united and connected to the aspirations of ordinary Nigerians.

Political analysts view the growing support for Olawepo-Hashim in the North-West as a significant development for the Accord Party, particularly in a region that has historically played a decisive role in Nigeria’s electoral politics. They note that sustained mobilisation in Kano, Katsina and Jigawa could provide the party with a stronger platform as political alignments begin to take shape ahead of 2027.
