Gwaram group urges Gadama to contest, cites strong grassroots impact

A political pressure group, the APC Gwaram Political Awareness Group, has called on Dr. Aliyu Muhammad Gadama to contest for the Gwaram Federal Constituency seat in the 2027 general elections, citing his longstanding humanitarian contributions and grassroots development efforts.
The group, a coalition of young professionals, youth organisations, business groups, politicians, and human rights activists, said Gadama has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to the welfare of ordinary people long before showing any political ambition.
In a statement jointly signed by its Chairman, Kabiru Muhammad Fagam, and Secretary, Abubakar Zubairu, the group highlighted what it described as Gadama’s sustained support for vulnerable members of the Gwaram community.
According to the group, Gadama has over the years provided relief materials, financial assistance, and welfare support to widows, orphans, the elderly, and persons living with disabilities, establishing a track record of compassion and community service.
They also pointed to his investment in youth empowerment, noting that numerous young people have benefited from skill acquisition programmes sponsored by Gadama, enabling them to develop vocational and entrepreneurial capacities.
“Through these initiatives, many youths have become self-reliant and productive members of society,” the group stated.
On education, the group commended Gadama for sponsoring the education of underprivileged students, ensuring that financial hardship does not hinder access to schooling for deserving children within the constituency.
“These humanitarian footprints distinguish him from other aspirants and position him as the most credible candidate to represent the people at the federal level,” the statement added.
The group therefore urged Gadama to heed the call of his supporters and declare his intention to contest the Gwaram Federal Constituency seat in 2027.
It also appealed to Umar Namadi, Governor of Jigawa State, to ensure a level playing field for all aspirants and support Gadama’s participation in the electoral process.
According to the group, Gadama’s emergence would represent a victory for grassroots politics and inclusive representation in the constituency.
