The Deputy Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Mrs. Comfort Ojoma Nwuchiola Egwaba, has laid her mother, Mrs. Margaret Uyo Nwuchiola, to rest in Idah, describing her as a pillar of discipline, resilience, and unwavering faith.
Speaking at the funeral service held at the Church with the Gospel, Egwaba paid glowing tribute to her late mother, noting that her guidance, prayers, and moral strength would be deeply missed. She said her mother’s life reflected a steadfast commitment to Christian values, giving her comfort that she passed on in faith.
The funeral drew sympathizers from across the state, including Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, who expressed condolences through his representative, the Commissioner for Agriculture, Mr. Timothy Ojoma. The governor described the deceased as someone who lived a meaningful and impactful life, urging the family to find solace in her legacy.
Delivering the homily, Reverend John Adino of the United Evangelical Church reminded attendees of the importance of using positions and resources to serve humanity and glorify God. He emphasized humility, warning that authority is temporary and should be exercised with compassion and integrity.
Reverend Adino also described the late Mrs. Nwuchiola as a devoted Christian whose life exemplified faith and service, encouraging her family to uphold the values she lived by.
Egwaba expressed gratitude to the governor, lawmakers, government officials, and well-wishers who attended the burial, noting that their presence provided comfort during her time of grief.
