Tinubu Lands in Lagos After UK Trip, Set for Eid Celebrations

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Lagos ahead of the Eid al-Fitr festivities, wrapping up a high-level diplomatic visit to the United Kingdom.
The President and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu arrived in the early hours of Friday, with their aircraft touching down at the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport around 1:15 a.m.
A delegation of senior officials, including Lagos Deputy Governor Dr. Obafemi Hamzat and Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, were on ground to receive the President, alongside prominent members of the ruling APC.
Tinubu is expected to spend the Eid holiday in Lagos before heading back to Abuja to resume state duties.
During the UK visit, the Nigerian leader engaged in high-level talks and royal engagements, including a state banquet hosted by King Charles III and Queen Camilla at Windsor Castle.
He also met with Prime Minister Keir Starmer, where both nations sealed agreements focused on port development and expanded trade cooperation—moves seen as part of efforts to deepen economic ties.
The visit marked another step in Nigeria’s push to strengthen strategic partnerships with the UK
