The Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA) has revealed that President Bola Tinubu has mandated the recruitment of 25 canvassers in each polling unit nationwide as part of the strategy for the 2027 general elections.
Speaking in Akure, Ondo State, Victor Olabimtan, RHA Coordinator in the state, said the initiative is designed to secure between 800,000 and 1 million votes for Tinubu in Ondo alone. He described the grassroots mobilisation group as a “child of necessity,” created to act as a bridge between the federal government and local communities.
Olabimtan explained that the canvassers will counter misinformation and disseminate facts about government policies and programs. With over 3,000 polling units in Ondo State, the strategy is expected to have a significant multiplier effect.
“The president has directed that in each polling unit, we should recruit 25 canvassers, each tasked with bringing five voters to the polls,” Olabimtan said. “This approach will ensure transparency and reduce opportunities for manipulation.”
The RHA coordinator also highlighted Tinubu’s focus on proactive governance, contrasting it with past administrations’ reactive approach. Canvassers will be paid three months before and two months after the election, ensuring commitment to the mobilisation effort.
This move comes as part of Tinubu’s broader Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at strengthening grassroots participation and consolidating electoral support across Nigeria
