Maiduguri Bomb Blast Highlights Tinubu’s Security Failures – PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has condemned the recent series of bombings in Maiduguri, Borno State, which claimed at least 23 lives and left over 100 people injured, calling the attack clear evidence of the APC-led federal government’s failure to curb rising insecurity across Nigeria.
In a statement, the party stressed that few would dispute that the country was significantly safer in 2015 than it is today. Instead of prioritizing the protection of citizens, the PDP alleged, the APC-led presidency has focused disproportionate energy and resources on political attacks against opposition parties.
Comrade Ini Ememobong, PDP National Publicity Secretary, described the Maiduguri attack as “most unfortunate” and emblematic of a worsening security landscape. “Eleven years after, insecurity has not only escalated in the North-East but has spread to regions previously considered safe and peaceful,” Ememobong said.
While extending condolences to the families of the victims, the PDP urged the federal government to move beyond mere statements, calling for engagement with strategic stakeholders, including community leaders, to implement a coordinated, whole-of-society approach to tackling insecurity
