The Management of Bayero University Kano (BUK) has confirmed that it is investigating allegations linking a student of the University to acts of online impersonation and financial misconduct.
In a statement released by the University’s Public Affairs Director, Lamara Garba, BUK said it maintains strict standards of conduct and integrity, and any behavior capable of damaging the institution’s reputation is treated with the utmost seriousness.
“The actions of any individual student do not represent the values or character of Bayero University Kano as an institution,” the statement read.
The University has launched a preliminary inquiry to determine the facts and ensure that the matter is handled in line with its established disciplinary procedures.
BUK also highlighted the contributions of public-spirited individuals such as Professor Farooq Kperogi, who quietly provide financial support to students in need, helping with registration fees and other educational expenses.
“Such acts of generosity continue to play an important role in expanding access to education and supporting deserving students,” the University said.
The Management assured the public that, if the allegations are substantiated, appropriate disciplinary action will be taken in accordance with University regulations and applicable laws.
Members of the public are urged to allow the investigation to proceed without speculation or the spread of unverified information.
