Speaker Abbas Mourns Death of Deputy Chief of Staff

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, has expressed profound sorrow over the passing of his Deputy Chief of Staff (Legislative), Dr. Dunkwu Chamberlain Nnamdi.
Describing the development as “shocking and devastating,” Abbas noted that Chamberlain, who died while actively serving the country, would have turned 55 on March 21.
Chamberlain, from Uteh Okpu community in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State, was also President of the Nigerian Aquatics Federation. In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Abdullahi Krishi, the Speaker said:
“It is with a heavy heart that I mourn the passing of my Deputy Chief of Staff. Dr. Chamberlain was not just my aide; he was a dependable and committed ally who served diligently until his last breath. He was full of life just a few hours before his passing when he joined me and colleagues at the breaking of fast on Friday evening.”
Abbas described the death as a painful loss to his office, the deceased’s family, and all who worked with him. He visited the family to offer condolences and prayed for strength for the widow and children.
Chamberlain’s career included appointments as Special Adviser on Members’ Affairs to the Speaker of the 9th Assembly and Chief of Staff to former Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila. He was a member of the All Progressives Congress and a Knight of the Anglican Communion, Asaba Diocese.
“This is indeed a moment of grief for me, my colleagues, his family and the staff in my office. But we find solace in the fact that he lived a life of service to humanity and his country,” Abbas added.
