Suspected Islamic terrorists have released a video showing 176 residents abducted from Woro community in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State on February 4, 2026.
In the footage, which is currently circulating on social media, the captives — mostly women and children, including a nursing mother — are seen standing in rows while an armed terrorist questions them about where they were abducted from.
Three of the women, speaking in Hausa, identified Woro community as the location of their abduction.
In the video, the terrorists accused the Kwara State Government of allegedly downplaying the scale of the incident. One of the armed men, also speaking in Hausa, claimed that government officials have been informing the public that only 20 to 30 people were kidnapped, contrary to what he described as the actual figure of 176 persons currently being held.
The release of the video has heightened concerns among residents across Kwara State, particularly in communities within the Kaiama axis, where repeated attacks by armed groups have been reported in recent months.
As of the time of filing this report, the Kwara State Government has yet to issue an official statement addressing the video or the claims regarding the number of abducted residents.
It would be recalled that terrorists attacked Woro community on February 4, 2026, killing several residents and abducting many others.
