Obidient Movement in Akwa Ibom Gears Up for 2027

***Vows to Defend Every Vote

As Nigeria edges closer to the 2027 general elections, the Obidient Movement in Akwa Ibom State has intensified its mobilization efforts, urging supporters to organize, defend their votes, and channel their energy toward meaningful political transformation.
Speaking in Uyo, Dr. Yunusa Tanko, National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement Worldwide, delivered a stirring message of unity, strategy, and purpose, echoing the call of HE Peter Obi that “in 2027, you will either count the votes correctly, or you will be counted.”
From the creeks to the cities, villages, university campuses, and bustling marketplaces, Dr. Tanko urged supporters to move beyond passion to structured action, emphasizing that the Obidient Movement is more than an electoral campaign — it is a vision for a new Nigeria.
“The Obidient Movement was never just about an election,” he declared.
“It is about building a disciplined, competent, compassionate, and accountable Nigeria. It is about restoring dignity to leadership and returning power to the people. History will remember Akwa Ibom as a state that stood tall in this struggle.”
Dr. Tanko outlined specific steps for mobilization: strengthening ward-level structures, organizing local meetings, revalidating voter registration, and ensuring alignment across the state. He called on every coordinator, youth leader, volunteer, woman, and elder to take active roles in preparing for the election.
“The African Democratic Congress (ADC) is our vehicle for transformation and victory in 2027,” he said. “This is not just political alignment; it is a strategic movement to win power to serve the people. Let no one sit on the sidelines. Let no one say their voice does not matter. When we organize and move together, we are unstoppable. When we vote, we transform nations.”
Highlighting the resilience and excellence for which Akwa Ibom is known, Dr. Tanko stressed that this strength must now be channeled into structured political participation. “Recruit. Register. Educate. Mobilize. Protect the vote. Let every ward echo with determination. Let every local government shine with organization. Let every household hear the message of hope,” he said.
For the Obidient Movement, 2027 is a defining moment, not just another election year. “Victory will not come through wishful thinking,” Dr. Tanko warned. “It will come through disciplined, strategic, and coordinated mobilization. Rise, Obidients of Akwa Ibom. Rise in unity. Rise in strategy. Rise in commitment.”
The coordinator concluded with a rallying vision for Nigeria’s future: “Together, under one banner and with one purpose, we march toward 2027 — and by the grace of God and the strength of the people, we shall prevail. Collectively, we will ensure that Peter Obi becomes President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, because he possesses the energy, integrity, and capacity to build a new Nigeria. Arise and shine, for a New Nigeria is possible.”
With this renewed call to action, the Obidient Movement signals a disciplined, organized, and strategic push into the ADC, aiming to consolidate political strength, mobilize grassroots support, and safeguard votes across Akwa Ibom State ahead of the 2027 polls.
