Kogi Shuts Markets, Parks in Seven LGAs to Starve Terrorists

The Kogi State Government has ordered the temporary closure of markets and motor parks in seven local government areas as part of intensified security operations aimed at disrupting the supply chains of terrorists, bandits, and criminal collaborators operating in the state.
The directive, announced on Sunday by the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo, targets communities in Kogi West Senatorial District where security agencies are currently carrying out clearance operations.
Fanwo explained that the measure is designed to cut off access to food, fuel, and other logistics relied upon by criminal elements, adding that the operation is being carried out in collaboration with the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) and other security agencies.
“This action is intended to restrict the movement of consumables and deny criminals and their informants the logistical support they depend on during security operations,” he said.
