The Aku Uka of Wukari, Dr. Ishaku Ada Ali, has commended Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, for what he described as impactful and people-focused developmental projects across Southern Taraba and other parts of the state.
The monarch gave the commendation on Thursday in Jalingo when he led a delegation of traditional rulers and key stakeholders from Wukari Local Government Area on a solidarity visit to the governor.
Dr. Ishaku Ada Ali praised Governor Kefas for initiating and executing critical infrastructure projects in Wukari and beyond, describing them as clear evidence of purposeful leadership.
He highlighted the ongoing construction of internal roads in Wukari, the Takum Junction flyover, the Forward Operating Base at Ikyaior, and the Wukari–Kente–Riti road as major milestones achieved under the Kefas administration.
According to the monarch, the projects, when completed, would have far-reaching economic and social benefits for residents of the southern zone and the state at large. He reaffirmed the unwavering support of traditional rulers for Governor Kefas and his administration.
In his response, Governor Kefas expressed gratitude to the Aku Uka, other traditional rulers, and stakeholders from Wukari for the visit and their show of solidarity.
The governor reiterated his commitment to inclusive governance, stressing that Taraba State’s more than 80 ethnic groups deserved fair representation and equal opportunities. He assured that his administration would continue to deliver people-oriented projects across the three senatorial zones of the state.
Governor Kefas also dismissed speculations about a strained relationship between him and elder statesman and former Minister of Defence, General Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma (rtd.), describing their relationship as “sound, firm, and solid.”
He noted that the retired general was fully aware of his leadership capacity and vision for Taraba State and remained unfazed by detractors.
“Some people go to General Danjuma to criticise me, but he knows me better than they do,” the governor said.
