Senator Jibrin Isah (Echocho) of Kogi East has lauded the Ejeh of Dekina, Dr. Usman Obaje, describing him as an amiable leader and a committed team player.
The senator made the remarks while joining other eminent personalities to celebrate the monarch’s 30 years on the throne, praising the people of Dekina for their enduring respect for their traditional ruler.
Senator Echocho urged the Igala community to continue honoring traditional institutions, noting that monarchs serve as representatives of God on earth. He also encouraged Igala politicians to remain focused and undistracted by unwarranted criticisms.
Acknowledging both past and present state leadership, the senator commended former Governor Yahaya Bello for his recognition of traditional institutions and praised the current administration for continuing this approach.
Extending warm congratulations to Dr. Obaje, Senator Echocho prayed for continued peace, unity, and development under his reign.
The celebration drew notable figures, including the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Dr. Ahmed Usman Ododo, represented by his Deputy, Comrade Joel Salifu Oyibo. Traditional leadership was well represented, with the Attah Igala, Alhaji Akwu Obaje, the Ejeh Ofu, and other monarchs in attendance.
