From a Lone Voice to Institutional Justice

INEC’s compliance with court rulings marks the triumph of the rule of law after a relentless struggle that began in 2024.
I sincerely commend the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for upholding the rule of law and doing what is right. By formally recognising and uploading the Senator Nenadi Esther Usman–led National Working Committee of the Labour Party, including Senator Darlington Nwokocha and other members, on its official website, INEC has demonstrated respect for judicial authority and reaffirmed its commitment to justice.
This action sends a strong and reassuring message that court pronouncements remain binding on public institutions and that the authority of Nigeria’s judiciary must be respected. It affirms that our democratic institutions are capable of self-correction and that the rule of law is alive, enduring, and cannot be wished away.
As a long journey—one that began in 2024, often fought as a lone voice—reaches a defining moment, I now call on the Nenadi-led National Working Committee to chart a clear, inclusive, and strategic path forward. The task ahead is to reposition the Labour Party as a credible, organised, and people-centred political platform, fully prepared for the 2027 general elections, and committed to presenting candidates who genuinely reflect the hopes and aspirations of Nigerians.
Today stands as a reminder that persistence matters, truth endures, and justice—though delayed—can still prevail. The psychological and emotional toll this struggle took on my family and me is a story for another day, but above all, I give God all the glory for this victory at last.
