Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has accused President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of unlawfully deducting ₦100 billion every month from the Federation Account without constitutional authority or legislative approval.
Speaking during a now-viral interview on Arise TV, El-Rufai claimed the alleged deductions have been ongoing for more than 15 months, amounting to about ₦1.5 trillion.
According to him, the withdrawals violate constitutional provisions governing the management of the Federation Account and bypass the National Assembly.
“Every month, President Bola Tinubu deducts ₦100 billion from the Federation Account. This action is unconstitutional and qualifies as an impeachable offence,” El-Rufai stated.
The allegation has sparked fresh debate over fiscal transparency and executive accountability at the federal level.
