SPEAKER of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf has said the 2026 New Year outlook reveals hope and better life for the citizens, particularly with the resolve of the Federal and State Governments to make life better for the people.
The Speaker disclosed this in his New Year message signed by his Chief Press Secretary Yabagi Mohammed and made available to newsmen on Thursday in Lokoja.
According to him, the outlook shows it would be a good one for the citizens, particularly with the plans of the present administration at both Federal and State levels to put necessary action in place to make life better for them.
Yusuf admitted that despite all the highs recorded in 2025, the past year was replete with many challenges for both the government and governed.
He however, expressed confidence that the new year would usher in improvement in all sectors adding that security of lives and property, in particular would be enhanced.
He said government had made huge investments and put measures in place to secure lives of citizens and applauded the resilience and tenacity of Kogites which has encouraged the will of the present administration to make necessary investments.
Speaker Yusuf particularly saluted Governor Ododo on the occasion of the New Year and applauded his impressive performance in leading the state.
He urged the Governor to sustain the tempo and even do more in the new year and the years ahead.
The Speaker used the opportunity to also wish his colleagues in the Assembly and all government officials serving in the present administration, a productive 2026. (Ends)
