Senator Okey Ezea, representing Enugu North Senatorial District in Enugu State, has passed away.
Ezea, elected under the Labour Party, was the only remaining member of the National Assembly from Enugu State.
He reportedly died on Tuesday in the United Kingdom while receiving medical treatment, having previously sought care in Germany.
The news was first shared on social media by popular on-air personality ‘Senator’ Chijinkem Ugwuanyi, who wrote on Facebook:
“Sad news. Senator Okey Ezea, representing Enugu North, is dead… Rest in Peace.”
While the circumstances surrounding his death are still unclear, reactions have begun pouring in across various social media platforms, with many mourning the loss of the lawmaker.
