The Kebbi State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has rejected the reported endorsement of former Minister of Special Duties, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, as the party’s consensus candidate for national chairman.
Kebbi PDP Publicity Secretary, Sani Dododo, told journalists in Birnin Kebbi that the decision was made without consulting key stakeholders in the North West, which is meant to produce the next chairman under the party’s zoning arrangement.
“The North West should be allowed to select its own candidate. No one consulted us before Turaki’s name was announced,” Dododo said.

He urged the PDP National Working Committee to allow the zone’s elders to deliberate and agree on a truly representative candidate.
Although Adamawa Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, who chaired the Northern PDP leaders’ meeting in Abuja, said the endorsement was not final, Kebbi’s rejection underscored growing unease over internal consensus politics ahead of the November convention.
Political watchers see the Kebbi rejection as an early warning that unity within the opposition party’s Northern bloc may be fragile—especially if consensus-building is perceived as pre-arranged.

This was really well done. I can tell a lot of thought went into making it clear and user-friendly. Keep up the good work!
Thank you for putting this in a way that anyone can understand.
