***Says Abuja Ready to Lead Africa’s Green Growth Drive?

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barr. Nyesom Wike, has called on investors to take advantage of the growing opportunities in Abuja to drive sustainable development and inclusive prosperity.

Speaking at the opening of the 2025 Abuja Business and Investment Expo (ABIEXPO) held at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, Wike reaffirmed the FCT Administration’s commitment to positioning the nation’s capital as a beacon of sustainability, innovation, and investment excellence in Africa.

Represented by the Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, Wike described Abuja as a reflection of Nigeria’s ambition under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritizes inclusive growth, infrastructure renewal, and job creation.
Special Advider on Media, Austine Elemue quoted her thus,
“As Abuja symbolizes the nation’s aspirations, our mission — supported by Mr. President — is to make it a safe, business-friendly city that empowers citizens and attracts global investment,” he said.

He noted that the FCT Administration is scaling up infrastructure renewal across the territory — from road networks linking satellite towns and area councils to rural communities — to boost economic activity and investor confidence.

Wike commended the Abuja Investment Company Limited (AICL) for organizing the Expo, describing it as “a forward-looking platform for unlocking Abuja’s full economic potential.”

“The FCT Administration remains open to fresh ideas, innovative partnerships, and strategic collaborations that can strengthen our investment climate and stimulate sustainable growth,” he added.

In her remarks, the Group Managing Director/CEO of AICL, Ambassador Maureen Tamuno, said the Expo aligns perfectly with the Renewed Hope vision to deepen investor confidence, stabilize the economy, and drive inclusive prosperity.

She disclosed that ABIEXPO 2025 has attracted delegates from South Africa, the United Kingdom, Canada, Botswana, and across Nigeria — a testament to growing international confidence in Abuja’s economic prospects.

Tamuno added that this year’s edition includes a Youth Day and Women’s Day, designed to promote inclusion, connect innovators with investors, and ensure equitable participation in emerging opportunities.

“ABIEXPO 2025 marks another bold step in Abuja’s transformation into a resilient, globally competitive investment destination,” she said.
