The Northern Senators Forum (NSF) has paid glowing tribute to the late Senator Solomon Sunday Akku Ewuga, who died on September 23, 2025, at the age of 70, describing him as a statesman who built bridges across politics, professions, and communities.
Ewuga’s political career was defined by his role in shaping Nigeria’s Fourth Republic, first as a founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and later as a driving force in the formation of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC). In both parties, he was seen as a strategist who worked to strengthen democratic institutions and expand political participation.
As Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Senator for Nasarawa North, Ewuga championed policies that emphasized inclusivity and grassroots development, leaving a footprint of service that extended beyond his constituency.

But his influence went far beyond politics. A trained lawyer and journalist, he was a respected member of Nigeria’s professional class — a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), a member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), and the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON). Through ADPURE Nigeria Limited, he pioneered advertising innovations that gave Northern Nigeria a stronger voice in the industry.
Equally, his philanthropy and community projects — ranging from scholarships to infrastructure for the Eggon people of Nasarawa — reflected a lifelong commitment to empowering others.
In a statement, NSF Chairman Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’adua noted: “Senator Ewuga’s life was about building bridges — between politics and professionalism, between leadership and service, between vision and impact. His memory will continue to inspire Nigeria’s future.”
